Jep Roger Preston

Jep Roger Preston, age 12 of Taylor Ridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17th in the loving arms of his dad and mom.

Jep was born on December 24th, 2013 in the hoots and hollers of Missouri. He was born into a family of champion huntsmen coonhounds with numerous siblings. On the day of his adoption, HE picked his dad, not the other way around. From that day forward, they were the best of friends.Even though Jep was bred for hunting, he preferred the finer things in life, lounging on the couch, watching tv, side by side rides and cuddling with those he loved. He enjoyed spending his days at the farm, checking cattle, napping with his best fur friend, Lady and making sure none of the cows got too close to the fence. He loved backroading with his mom and dad and talking smack to the other neighboring dogs, it made him feel tough. He enjoyed the occasional McDonald’s cheeseburger and any table scraps he could get his paws on.

In August of 2025, Jep became a big brother to his baby sister, Letty. Where it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, he always made sure she was safe and tolerated her anyways.Jep didn’t know a stranger, he was loved by all who knew him. He was mostly known for his famous yodeling bark that you could hear from miles away. His bark was far worse than his bite. He was a gentle soul, loving, sweet and one of a kind. He will be missed every second of every day.

Jep is survived by his parents, Sam and Brittany, little sister, Letty, best friend, Lady and several other close family and friends. 

He was met at the rainbow bridge by his beloved Aunt Robin, Uncle Rusty & Cousin Jake.
