Bailey Miller

I went to the Clinton (Iowa) Humane Society in May of 2005 looking to find a companion to fill the void left years earlier by my childhood dog.

After spending time with 2 other kittens, I kept looking for the right one. All of the kittens were jumping up and down for me to pet them except one. There was a beautiful black and white cat just laying there in the corner all sad. I figured I would see how she was. Well, to my amazement, the kitten sniffed around and looked around the room like kittens do, only to stop, come back to me, and stretched her little body up for me to pick her up. When she fell asleep on my lap, I knew she was the one for me.

That’s when Bailey came into my life.

For 17 years and 3 months, she was my constant companion and best friend.

When it became clear she could no longer live a good life, I made the decision for her to be at peace. I can only hope she felt the same amount of love she showed me for all those years.
